If dynastic rule ‘Routes’ exists:

Enact a new subrule to ‘Routes’, entitled ‘Picked Up’ reading:

If a Driver Drives a Route, for example, Route X, that is also in other Drivers’ Routes pools, Route X is then marked as Picked Up for all Drivers until the following day. The following day, Route X becomes Active again for all Drivers except the Drivers who have Driven Route X since they last Requested Assignment. Route X will be marked Inactive for all Drivers who have Driven Route X since they last Requested Assignment.

Routes that are Picked Up will not be moved to the bottom of their Driver’s pool, but will follow the same rules and subrules as Inactive Routes otherwise.

If a route is picked up, there’s no one left to pick up there. Have to wait until tomorrow to have a passenger waiting for you. I think this also provides for some fun mechanics (maybe generating passengers at certain routes to pick up?)
