Players: chiiika, Clucky, Jason, Jumble, pokes, Trapdoorspyder

Flavour

  • Player - Gladiator
  • Energy - Energy
  • Attack - Attack
  • Defense - Defense
  • Power - Blessing (of the Gods)
  • Sidekick - Spear-carrier

Blessings

  • Call Down Lightning: Usable once per turn. Burn 25 energy, dealing 45 attack.
  • Ennius' Economic Efficiency: For all auctions, including this one, when you win it, you pay an energy cost equal to the second-highest bid instead of the highest.
  • Fire of Mars: At the end of combat, if no player spent energy on Attacking, deal 5 damage to each player.
  • Founding of Rome: Spend 35: Collect a God’s Brick. If you have 3 God’s Bricks and accrued no damage this turn, you win the game.
  • Jupiter’s Champion: If you deal 100 damage in a single turn, you win the game.
  • Poseidon's Wrath: Spend 15: Target a Player whom you did not attack this round. Their defense is reduced to 0.
  • Return to the Underworld (Bane): If you have not won by the end of round 6, you are eliminated.
  • Rufus: Spear-carrier with 15 energy. If he damages exactly one opponent on a turn, your attacks on that opponent are unblockable on the next turn.
  • Spawn of Hades: Any players who are killed are revived as a Spear-carrier (called a Spawn) under your control with 30 energy and no Blessings. If you are killed, all of your Spawns immediately die. When a Spawn dies, their death does not generate another Spawn.
  • Targeted Thunderstrikes: On the first round, submit a secretly ordered list of every other Gladiator. At the end of every round, the Gladiator that is first on that list takes 11 unblockable damage (if they are still alive), then is moved to the end of the list.
  • Throwing spear: Usable once per turn. If not thrown the previous turn, throw the spear for 15 energy, dealing 25 attack. If thrown the previous turn, spend 10 energy to recover the spear, otherwise this blessing is discarded.
  • Wine of Bacchus: You cannot take more than 15 damage at once.

Clarifications

  • "What happens if both instawin powers activate?" [Jumble]
The player with the most Energy wins as a tiebreaker; if they're on the same Energy then the player who started with the lowest Energy wins; if it's still a tie then it's a tie.
  • How does Jupiter's Champion work with multiple attackers? [Jumble]
I won't be allocating defence to specific attack; any Attacker to participates in an Attack that deals damage has that damage count towards the triggering of their Blessing, even if that results in damage being double-counted for the purposes of triggering Blessings
  • Does Lightning, when used with Wine, make you only lose 15 energy on Activation instead of 25? [Jumble]
Yes
  • Can you damage someone for more than their total health? Does Jupiter work on only 100 damage exactly or can you overshoot? [Jumble]
Damage dealt can exceed the total health of the target, and overshooting 100 still triggers Jupiter's Champion.
  • Would killing Rufus result in a Spawn being made? [Jumble]
Yes, Spear-carriers are Gladiators in all respects
  • Does Fire of Mars activate if only attacking powers are used and not actual attacks? [Jumble]
Yes - Fire of Mars does not consider other Blessings, only directly allocated Attacks
  • [For Fire of Mars,] does 'each player' also include yourself? [Jumble]
Yes
  • When a power 'does damage', can it be blocked? [Jumble]
Yes - only damage that specifies that it is unblockable is unblockable.
  • Are spear-carriers on the gladiator list [for Targeted Thunderbolts]? And eliminated gladiators stay on the list? [pokes]
Rufus is on the initial list, although subsequently-created Spawns don't get added to it. Eliminated Gladiators are still on the list; on rounds where they're the target of the Thunderstrikes no-one gets hit
  • Can Founding of Rome be activated more than once in a round? [pokes]
Yes
  • Is there a first round thunderstrike? [pokes]
Yes
  • Are you allowed to attack yourself to help trigger Jupiter's Champion? And if you die from it, do you win or not? [Clucky]
You are not allowed to target yourself with an attack.
  • Are you allowed to target your spear-carriers (or have your spear-carriers target you/your other spear-carriers)? [Clucky]
Yes
  • If everyone bids 0 on fire of mars, does no one get it so the effect just isn't in the game? [Clucky]
Correct
