Amendments:

A Lifeform may propose an Amendment by posting an entry in the “Amendment” category with the title “(Proposal to be Amended) Amendment” provided all of the following are true:

  • The Proposal to be Amended is a currently pending proposal.
  • The Lifeform that is posting the Amendment is the same Lifeform that posted the Proposal to be Amended.

An Amendment counts against a Lifeform's daily limit of 3 proposals, but does not count against a Lifeform's limit of 2 Pending proposals.

All Lifeforms may add votes of agreement or disagreement in comments to this entry, using appropriate voting icons (a Lifeform's later votes overriding eir earlier ones). Amendments continue until one of the following conditions is true: The Pending Proposal in the Amendment’s title ceases to be pending, in which case the Amendment is considered failed or the pending proposal receives Quorum/2 votes FOR and the Amendment is considered passed.

If the Amendment is failed, then the Amendment has no effect. If an Amendment is passed, the proposal it amends is failed, regardless of its location in the proposal queue, and then a new proposal, with the same name is posted, with the text of the amendment.

Amendments may make no changes to any Proposals other than the one in the title and may make no changes to the gamestate except where explicitly listed above.

Amendments (Amended by Seebo):

A Lifeform may propose an Amendment Proposal by posting an entry in the "Proposal" subcategory "Amendment" with the title “(Proposal to be Amended) Amendment” provided all of the following are true:

  • The Proposal to be Amended is a currently pending proposal.
  • The Lifeform that is posting the Amendment is the same Lifeform that posted the Proposal to be Amended.

An Amendment counts against a Lifeform's daily limit of 3 proposals, but does not count against a Lifeform's limit of 2 Pending proposals.

Voting on Amendments works as stated in rule 1.4 "Voting".

If an Amendment is passed, the proposal it amends is failed, regardless of its location in the proposal queue. A new proposal with the same name as the original Proposal is posted with its text altered per the amendment.

Amendments may make no changes to any Proposals other than the one in the title and may make no changes to the gamestate except where explicitly listed above.

My idea is that since we already have Proposals so well defined and taken care of, we can just make Amendments part of Proposals and say they use all the rules that proposals do with the exception of a different Enactment rule, which could be proposed as "Amendment Enactment". I'm not nearly done, I just did one or two of the first changes that would be required, since I have other stuff to do right now... Just throwing the idea out there for someone else to mess with.

reference, please ignore:

If two or more Lifeforms actively disagree as to the interpretation of the Ruleset, or if a Lifeform feels that an aspect of the game needs urgent attention, then any Lifeform may raise a Call for Judgment by posting an entry in the "Call for Judgment" category. If the Lifeform wishes, e may post anonymously by choosing "Call for Judgment" from the Author drop-down menu on the OPTIONS tab. The post shall go on to describe the issue, and measures that shall be taken to resolve it.

All Lifeforms may add votes of agreement or disagreement in comments to this entry, using appropriate voting icons (a Lifeform's later votes overriding eir earlier ones). Unfailed CfJs continue until they reach a quorum of FOR votes, a quorum of AGAINST votes, or if there is no hiatus going on, until four days have passed, and if there is a hiatus going on until two days have passed. After this time, if more than half of the cast votes are in favour, the Gamestate and Ruleset shall be amended as was specified. Otherwise, the CfJ fails. A Failed CfJ has no further effect.

Upgrades

If the Proposal "A Use for Upgrades, Take 1" does not pass, this proposal does nothing.

Rewrite the text of the rule "Evolutionary Upgrades" with the following text:

Each evolutionary variable has a number of possible evolutionary upgrades associated with it.

Each Evolutionary Upgrade (listed below) has an associated cost to one or more Evolutionary Variables. Thye combined cost of all Evolutionary Variables for Evolutionary Ugrades that a Lifeform has on eir creature page may not excede the current Level of that Evolutionary Variable.

A lifeform may, at any time, add an evolutionary upgrade to eir section of the creature page provided the above statement holds true. A lifeform may, at any time, remove an evolutionary variable by paying a DNA price equal to 10*2^X, where X is the total of cost of all the Upgrades' Evolutionary Variables.

The possible evolutionary upgrades are as follows:

Hunter Mentality (1 Brain Size): Adds +1 to the Lifeform’s Attack and +1 to the Lifeform’s Brains

Defence Mentality (1 Brain Size): Adds +1 to the Lifeform’s Defense and +1 to the Lifeform’s Brains

Genius Upgrade (1 Brain Size): Adds +2 to the Lifeform’s Brains

Sharp Teeth(1 Facial Features): Adds +2 to the Lifeform’s Attack

Large Ears(1 Facial Features): Adds +1 to the Lifeform’s Brains and +1 to the Lifeform’s Defense

Big Forehead(1 Facial Features): Adds +1 to the Lifeform’s Attack and +1 to the Lifeform’s Brains

Tough Skin(1 Body Mass): Adds +2 to the Lifeform’s Defense

Sleek Skin(1 Body Mass): Adds +2 to the Lifeform’s Speed

Standard Skin(1 Body Mass): Adds +1 to the Lifeform’s Defense and +1 to the Lifeform’s Speed

Quick Feet(1 Appendages): Adds +2 to the Lifeform’s Speed

Sharp Claws(1 Appendages): Adds +1 to the Lifeform’s Attack and +1 to the Lifeform’s Defense.

Large Hoofs(1 Appendages): Adds +1 to the Lifeform’s Attack and +1 to the Lifeform’s Speed.

Forked Tongue(1 Appendages, 1 Facial Features): Adds +2 to the Lifeform's Attack, and +2 to the Lifeform's Defense.

Trunk(1 Appendages, 1 Body Mass): Adds +3 to the Lifeform's Attack, +3 to the Lifeform's Defense, and -1 to the Lifeform's Speed.

Multifaceted Eyes(2 Facial Features): Adds +4 to Defense.

A Lifeform may also have 1 Unique Ability, chosen from the list below:

Unique Abilities:

Economic Sense: Increases the weekly interest earned by the lifeform by .0X%, where X is equal to the current level of the Lifeform's Unique Ability.

Fast Fingers: Allows the lifeform to have X extra pending proposals and Y extra proposals per day, where X is the current level of the Lifeform's Unique Ability divided by 4, and Y is the current level of the Lifeform's Unique Ability divided by 3.

Rapid Change: Allows the lifeform to evolve X times per day instead of once, where X is the current level of the Lifeform's Unique Ability divided by 3.

Easy Evolution: When the Lifeform evolves e pays X less than the requisite price, where X is twice the current level of the Lifeform's Unique Ability (to a minimum of 1/2 the base price).

Bloodsucker: Often a Lifeform may 'steal' X DNA points from the Lifeform with the current highest DNA total (excluding the Gene Pool) where X is the current level of the Lifeform's Attack - the Defense of the targeted Lifeform (to a minimum of 1). If the Lifeform currently has the highest DNA total, e may not use this ability.
