  • Initiator: Either or both of the following is true:
(i) Power Switch is set to "On"; or
(ii) the Initiator condition of any Part that is located in the Square directly below the Power Manifold is satisfied.
  • Effect: All of the following:
(i) Power Manifold Status is set to "On";
(ii) any required state changes are made so as to cause the Initiator conditions of the Parts (if any) located in the Squares directly to the left and to the right of the Power Manifold to be satisfied; and
(iii) any required state changes are made so as to cause the Initiator conditions of the Part (if any) located in the Square directly above the Power Manifold to _not_ be satisfied.

With respect to part (ii) and part (iii) above: change the applicable states to their default states if this satisfies the condition, otherwise change the applicable states to the first listed state in the list of possible variable states that satisfies the condition. In the event of a conflict between effect (ii) and effect (iii) then effect (ii) controls.

Shark (SHK)

  • Default State: "Asleep"
  • Initiator: State of the Shark is changed to a state other than "Asleep" or "Dead".
  • Effects: If the State of the Shark is changed to Awake-Hungry, then (so long as the Rules or Gamestate documents so permit): (A) if there is a Part in the Square immediately to the left of the Shark on the Workbench, then that Part is destroyed and removed from the Workbench, the State of the Shark is changed to "Awake-Full", and ignore clause (B) below; and (B) if there is a Part in the Square immediately to the right of the Shark on the Workbench, then that Part is destroyed and removed from the Workbench, and the State of the Shark is changed to "Awake-Full. In addition, if the description of any other Part on the Workbench provides that the Shark having any particular status has any particular result, then those results will be given effect if the Shark has that particular status. If at any time the State of the Shark is changed to "Dead" then the State of the Shark will permanently be "Dead" and, thereafter, the Shark cannot be initiated.

  • Effect: Number of bananas increases by one. Watering can set to 0% full.
  • Possible States: N Bananas. N can be any positive integer.

Rabid Monkey (RBM)

  • Name: Rabid Monkey (RBM)

  • Initiator: The state of a part to the right or left of Rabid Monkey on the Workbench is changed and state is set to "Rabid"
  • Effect: The Rabid Monkey sets the state of the part below it on the workbench to its default. Then the Rabid Monkey drops into the next column on its right, wrapping around to the first column on the left once it reaches the right edge of the Workbench. Then, if the Rabid Monkey is adjacent to the Big Banana Tree and its state is set to 1 Banana or more the following occurs:
  1. The state of the Big Banana Tree is set to X Bananas, where X is one less than the current number of Bananas
  2. The state of Rabid Monkey is set to Pacified

Radio Transmitter (RTM)

  1. The state of the transmit button is "Pressed".
  2. The Antenna is "Extended"
  • Effect: Sends orders of "Go" to any radio receivers.
  • Possible States:
  1. The transmit button can be "Unpressed" or "Pressed"
  2. The antenna can be "Retracted" or "Extended"
  • State: The transmit button is "Unpressed" and the antenna is "Retracted"
  • Default State: The transmit button is "Unpressed" and the antenna is "Retracted"


Meandering Flaming Cow (MFC)

  • Name: Meandering Flaming Cow(MFC)
  • Creator: Chivalrybean Mon 14/05/07--19:12:22 GMT
  • Initiator: When the MFC comes into contact with any flame, or any flame comes into contact with it, the state changes from Chewing Cud to Flaming.
  • Effect: While Chewing Cud, the MFC has to effect and does not move. When Flaming, the MFC will walk in the direction it is facing, walking over any parts the same size or smaller that the MFC(staying on same row it started on, unless some force moves it). When the MFC tries to move into a position with a part that is larger than the MFC, the facing of the MFC toggles and the MFC walks in the new direction. Any part above the the MFC that can be caught fire or can be effected by heat catches fire or is effected by heat when the MFC is below it.

  • Effect: This piece switches place with the piece above it, and then the Machine immediately stops running and becomes Standing By.

Jim Jones Kool-Aid Shower (JJK)

  • Name: Jim Jones Kool-Aid Shower (JJK)

  • Effect: Each of the following, in order:

(1) The Shark, if it is on the Workbench, has its state changed to "Dead". (2) Each of the following Parts, if it is on the Workbench, is destroyed and removed from the workbench:

      (A) Confused Kamikaze Pilot (CKP)
      (B) Rabid Monkey (RBM)
      (C) Meandering Flaming Cow (MFC)
      (D) Any other Part whose description expressly states that it is an animal or that it is susceptible to being killed or destroyed by the Jim Jones Kool-Aid Shower

(3) The state of the Jim Jones Kool-Aid Shower is reset to the state of "Off" and is then permanently set at that state.

Greek Fire Trebuchet(GFT)

  • Name: Greek Fire Trebuchet

  • Initiator: Lever is pulled.
  • Effect: A flaming ball is hurled two (2) slots in the facing direction of the trebuchet, catching anything that can be ignited on fire in the slot in which it lands. The fire stays lit in the square. If for any reason water enters the square the flaming ball landed in, the fire spreads one square to the right and to the left. The trebuchet must be reset to "Armed" manually by the means of another part to be launched again. It can be fired a total of three times.

Wired Toggle Switch(WTS)

  • Initiator: There is a 1x1 piece on top of this piece, and the space to this piece's left is empty.
  • Effect: This piece changes state. Then, any adjacent pieces that have a state with a name identical to the name of this piece's current state are set to that state. Finally, this piece swaps places with the one above it.

Cinder Block (CIN)

  • Name: Cinder Block (CIN)

  • Effect: None. The Cinder Block cannot catch fire and is not an animal.

Left Pusher Gadget(LPG)

  • Name: Left Pusher Gadget(LPG)

  • Initiator: There is a 1x1 piece to the left of the LPG.
  • Effect: The LPG turns "on." The 1x1 piece to the left of the LPG is pushed to the left one space. If there is a piece to the left of pushed part, both parts are pushed so long as the second part is no larger than 1x1. No parts are moved if 3 parts would have to be moved. The LPG turns "off"
