Issues raised during playtest

  • The game could really use a "shopping list" of axiomatic pricings, to make it quicker to work out how much a proposal should cost (and allow stumped players to find simple starting point ideas): have started compiling one at The Council shopping list.
  • Some talk of a "counter-Outsider" or "Insider" to balance a perceived excess of power in the Outsider. (There was a suggestion to create a "Second Hive" Outsider in this game, with both being required to veto a proposal for it to fail, with the true Outsider victory going to the Outsider who let the most proposals through.)
  • There's an ongoing issue that a proposal like "everybody wins" or "this subset of half the players, including the Outsider, wins" is a strong play if the Outsider feels like going along with it. Some of it (where the Outsider is lured away to win against the Rebels wishes) can be kept in check by allowing the Rebels to demand a veto (which might be a good idea anyway), but it may need a broader meta-rule about etiquette: that - like "five of my friends join and support a proposal to crown me the winner" in BlogNomic - these cheap victories aren't how the game is played, and the Outsider is socially expected to veto them. --Kevan (talk) 15:51, 12 January 2021 (UTC)
