Dynastic Quota?

Paging User:Cuddlebeam to provide that promised full commentary about Dynastic Quotas, at some point. This sounds like something worth knowing about, but I can't see any obvious signs of a quota of anything, from a skim of the final ruleset. --Kevan (talk) 15:08, 8 August 2020 (UTC)

I'm assuming he means the finite amount of cash proposed at the very beginning. For some of the dynasty it could only be decreased, eventually limiting actions. I'm also interested in the full commentary on it. Pokes (talk) 19:38, 8 August 2020 (UTC)
Yes, it was that. Sorry for the misunderstanding but the "full commentary" was referring to covering the lack of commentary on gameplay, not further expansion on dynastic quotas. I don't much else to say about it, I just really liked it in comparison to daily actions. At the time, Kevan XX and Viv I were the only dynasties I had played, and they had a lot of daily actions, and this was a smack in the face of a mechanic that solved what I disliked about that kind of tempo. It made it feel more strategic and fair and less "oh I happen to be online to slot in my daily pay, if I do this enough as the rest of players are too bored to do this menial task, I win" and more "we all start with the same cash - it's up to your smarts to make the best use of it" 21:28, 9 August 2020 (UTC)Cuddlebeam (talk)
Ah, got it. We should definitely try to do more of that. --Kevan (talk) 09:19, 10 August 2020 (UTC)
In fact, we really should look at the various action-limiting systems we've tried over time, give them names, and stop using the bad ones. We're currently voting on "As a weekly communal action, a Pathfinder may Sunrise, granting each Pathfinder 7 Stamina", but I can't remember if that's a good system or not. (Doesn't it mean that everyone saves their actions until as late as possible in the week, and that the wisest player will often wait until 23:59 on Sunday so that they can spend their about-to-expire actions in the most efficient way?) --Kevan (talk) 15:37, 13 August 2020 (UTC)
It's intended as a bastard child between dynastic quotas and weekly actions. I don't think there is a good way that "feels right" to implement a dynastic quota on doing actions and exploring and going around doing stuff. ------18:06, 13 August 2020 (UTC)Cuddlebeam (talk)
