cc: Xenogenetic Team
Following reports of abnormal mutations in the fish population of a nearby bay, we have managed to recover several samples of extraterrestrial genetic material from a submerged meteorite.
You will be working with your fellow genetic engineers to synthesize brand-new lifeforms never before seen on this planet; we anticipate untold applications to medical and military technology.
We are confident that your work here will impact millions of lives around the globe.
Sincerely, Lukas Head of Xenogenetic Research at Sublogical Genomics
P.S. Some of you have voiced concerns regarding alleged security flaws in the containment cells. Please rest assured that our cells are technically in compliance with the relevant legal codes.
P.P.S. I have been asked to remind ALL of the team that fruit-matching games, or indeed games of any sort, are not to be played on company workstations.

Gameplay summary
Genetic Engineers manipulate the Nucleotides of an ever-growing Genome in order to create and control Organisms, which may award them Research Points or get them Injured, all while navigating the Laboratory Map.

Posts of Interest
- Genetics 101: Established the Genome, Nucleotides, Codons, and mutations through Synthesis
- Research Points: The first collectable resource
- The Laboratory: A series of connected Rooms
- It's Alive!: Added Organisms created by a specific Codon
- Advanced Genetics: Different types of Mutations, some costing Research Points
- You Are Here: Turned the text description of The Laboratory into a visual map of Rooms connected by Doors
- Hypothetical Genes: Allowed guesses of Nucleotide sequences to acquire Understanding
- Waving Hands: Activate each valid Codon by processing each sequence of three Nucleotides in the Genome
- Hostile Lifeforms: Added a Status which could be Healthy or Injured. An Injured Genetic Engineer can only move to other Rooms.
- Rat Run: Movement has to stop at any Room with "Airlock" in the name
- The Evolution Will Be Televised: Organisms have Stages of evolution
- Actually JonathanDark was the Name of the Scientist: Added a Discoverer for each proposed Codon to incentivize new Codon proposals
- Dormant Window: Put the dynasty in Dormancy when the active players (not counting the Head Researcher) were below 5
- Brushcutting: Removed Discoverers, added a victory condition for Understanding, and awarded Josh 6 catch-up Research Points
- Break-Even: Cutting the dynasty short by a chop with each Genetic Engineer's share made up of Research Points (including those spent during the dynasty).
Syntheses
Non-dynastic Proposals
- Removing the Brown M&Ms: Created a special type of Proposal called Precondition Proposals that Idle Players can submit but not vote on. Enacting such a Proposal causes the Idle Player who proposed it to become unidle.
Ascension
After there was very little activity in the dynasty for some time, Kevan proposed a chop to end the dynasty, to which JonathanDark opposed and counter-proposed a different chop, both of which failed. Kevan made an adjustment to the chop as requested by JonathanDark and proposed a chop based on total Research Points earned. Desertfrog achieved victory after their Research Point was randomly selected among the chop.
