Ascension Address

Repeal all dynastic rules. Replace “Rat” with “Hacker” and “Head Scientist” with “Zero Cool” throughout the ruleset.

Posts of Interest
- Hack the Planet - Established that Hackers control both Corps and a potentially unlimited number of anonymous online identities. Idle Hackers could also participate, although in practice, none did.
- The Rat Run - Hackers built up the capability to Hack by adding subroutines to the Tools of their Codenames. It would become possible to add subroutines to the Codename of any Hacker.
- Making a Hash of It - Hackers like glory. Signing your work was necessary to make sure that the correct Hacker could claim credit for an anonymous action if necessary.
- Trust, Inc. - Corps had Secrets, Hackers wanted Secrets. Included the fatal wording "For Corp Names this defaults to 5".
- Transparency - Non-Admins could not directly add their Codenames to the GNDT, so had to wait for an Admin to do it for them.
Ascension
ShareDVI realised that if "Corp Names" start the game with 5 Secrets, then creating a Codename calls "Corp Names" would mean that that Codename started immediately with the game-winning 5 Secrets. He requested that this be carried out in the GNDT, but Kevan - the first Admin to notice - set it up under his own hash rather than the one ShareDVI had set up. This raised a variety of issues that were explored in a CfJ, but eventually the win was found to be legal.
