Ascension Address
A dented tin whistle, a candlestick with some kind of guild symbol, some sharp but tarnished antique cutlery, a mouldering opera cloak… You aren’t sure how your attic has filled up with this junk over the years, but the time has come to clear it out and see how much money you can get for it.
Change the term “Assassin” to “Seller” and “Referee” to “Broker”.
Players
The following players were active during the Dynasty: Ayesdeeef, Doctor29, Kevan, King, Lilomar, Nomic^3, PTSnoop_, Purplebeard, RaichuKFM, Sylphrena, Sprucial
Final Ruleset
Posts of Interest
- Attic Scavengers gave players collections of Goods to sell: as a daily action, a player with nothing could search their attic by rolling on the list of second-hand goods
- Opportunity Cost Knocks introduced Profit, and changed the daily action to a £5 cost
- Pounds and Pounds of Dollars made $ and £ symbols interchangeable.
- A Man Who Knows the Price of Everything gave every category of Good a general Typical Price, and secretly made some items Rare or Forgeries, tracked by the Broker. An item's Market Price was based on these factors.
- Unwanted Gold allowed players to sell items to the Broker, who would offer a (random) price for it, based on its Market Price.
- My Final Offer locked in prices; once an item had been sold, all future copies would fetch the same amount
- PVP Haggling allowed other players to join in on sales, offering to buy instead of the Broker
- Because You're Such a Good Customer changed locked prices to be per-customer
- Credit Limit capped player-vs-player sale offers at £50 above their Profit
- Collect Call boosted a random category of item, each week
- A Keen Eye allowed players to specialise in particular categories of item, to learn some of the Rare and Forged objects within
- Different Class limited that specialisation to one per player to dynasty
- One Ton added a win condition, out-performing all the other Sellers by at least £100
- Investment introduced exponential decay of Profit as Inflation, and Bonds, fixed-value Goods immune to Inflation.
- Changing Your Offer allowed players to change their offers (supposedly for fixing typos in them)
- Market Cap allowed Sellers to also win by hitting a fixed $150 profit
- Junk added generic Junk items to sell at the Flea Market; Cutting Out The Middleman just changed this to a roll that gave you money
- Appreciating Goods made items in the Antiques and Art categories increase in value over time
- Speedy Investing removed the restriction on how quickly Bonds could be sold, allowing Ayesdeeef to win quicker
Core proposals
- He's Dead Jim removed the IRC channel link from the sidebar (although it wasn't gamestate so didn't need to be a proposal)
- Greyer Than White tightened the rule about blanking wiki content upon it becoming gamestate
- Nota Bene said that comments beginning with "Note:" wouldn't render a proposal uneditable (this would in future be changed again so that only actual voting icons locked a proposal)
Ascension
The dynasty got quiet towards the end. Ayesdeeef won with £100 more profit than every other player (even after proposing a "most money wins" victory condition that they didn't need).
